Holly Hill, FL – Two additional cases linked to a serial rapist are now in the hands of the State Attorney’s Office.

Just before the weekend got underway (April 26th), Daytona Beach police announced the arrest of 44-year-old Markeith Martin, in connection to an August 2018 rape case.

In that case, police say Martin sexually battered a woman who was fixing her bike near Coach Street against her will.

At that same press conference, Daytona Beach Police Chief Craig Capri said that Martin was linked to a couple of other cases in Daytona Beach, as well as a possible case in the city of Holly Hill.

Now (April 29th), Holly Hill police say that Martin is actually linked to two different cases, not one.

According to HHPD, one case dates back to 2014, where a woman reported that Martin had beat her up and forced her to have sex with him.

The other case came out of 2018, where the victim alleged that Martin forced her to do heroin before he threw her to the ground and raped her.

Both of those cases ended up resulting in criminal complaint charges being filed with the State Attorney’s Office about Martin.

But, HHPD says that, in regards to the 2014 case, the State Attorney’s Office decided to “no information” the charge of sexual battery.

And, in the 2018 case, charges were sent to the State Attorney’s Office in March, but they haven’t decided what to do with the case since the victim has since passed away.

HHPD now has to wait to find out how the State Attorney’s Office wants to move forward with both of these cases.
